About
The Neonatal ICU and Pediatric ICU provide specialized care for babies and children who have a variety of health conditions that require intensive care and are being closely watched by a specially trained healthcare team. Examples include babies who are born extremely premature or those experiencing a range of health complications or illnesses that require immediate attention. The job of the ICU team is to stabilize a patient’s condition and help them toward the fullest recovery possible.
McMaster Children’s Hospital (MCH) is home to one of Canada’s most advanced Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU). In the NICU, our healthcare team provides care for newborns and infants with serious health conditions that require close monitoring and care.
Also at MCH, the Neonatal Follow-Up Clinic supports families after their baby leaves the NICU through a range of services.
