Celebrating our doctors on Doctors’ Day
The word physician is an all-encompassing term for someone who advises, mentors, helps, innovates, provides solutions, comforts, researches, and provides best care for all. Hamilton Health Sciences (HHS) proudly recognizes the contributions of our doctors on this Doctors’ Day.
One day is not sufficient to capture all of their invaluable contributions to our hospital, patients, and community, but it’s a good starting point. We extend our profound gratitude to our physicians – many of our patients have done the same. You can send a message of thanks to an HHS doctor by emailing MedAffairs@hhsc.ca. Our Medical Affairs team will ensure it gets delivered.
Over the past year, our physicians have achieved some phenomenal accomplishments. Celebrating firsts, such as the launch of the first pediatric stool bank in Canada, and major milestones, such as our Michael G. DeGroote Pain Clinic reaching 50 years of pain management services.
Their commitment to advancing patient care through innovation only grows stronger. From providing a new treatment option for the first time to liver cancer patients in our region, to utilizing nerve freezing technology for a specific pediatric surgery, to evaluating the use of artificial intelligence to help determine which cardiac patients need an invasive procedure or a non-invasive test.
These are just a few examples of the impact our doctors make. We couldn’t be more proud of the more than 2,100 doctors that are part of Hamilton Health Sciences.
Below are some additional stories showcasing their expertise, leadership, and commitment to patient care and our community.
