Impact Report 2023-2024

We’re excited to present our 2023-24 Impact Report, highlighting the outstanding dedication and contributions of our staff and physicians across our strategic pillars of patients, people, sustainability, and research and innovation.

Last year, we focused on making patient care better, safer, and more equitable and inclusive. Thanks to investments from our hospital, the government, and donors, we expanded services and improved quality in many areas. We teamed up with community partners to launch initiatives to promote community wellness and reduce hospital visits. Our recognition with Exemplary Standing by Accreditation Canada in 2023 reflects our unwavering commitment to quality and safety.

We’ve introduced new programs and policies to keep everyone safe and healthy at work. We’ve also taken a bold approach to recruitment to build a sustainable workforce, so we can continue to meet the needs of our community.

Sustainability remains a cornerstone of our organizational strategy. With significant reductions in emissions and ongoing facility redevelopment projects, we’re ensuring environmentally responsible operations and modern facilities for future generations.

As one of Canada’s top research hospitals, our unwavering commitment to research and innovation continues to set new benchmarks in healthcare standards. Throughout 2023-24, our teams achieved groundbreaking discoveries and launched innovative programs that have made a global impact on patient care. We also remain committed to training the next generation of healthcare professionals in collaboration with our academic partners, including McMaster University and Mohawk College.
